Licensure Disclosure

Students outside of Oklahoma should seek guidance from the appropriate licensing agency in their home state before beginning a Cameron University course or academic program to determine whether the course or program will lead to a professional license in their state. It is the student’s responsibility to understand their state licensing board’s requirements. NC-SARA has no effect on State professional licensing requirements. See the links below for Cameron University’s current determination regarding specific degree programs meeting educational requirements in states other than Oklahoma.

Licensure Rates, Placement rates, and Other performance indicators

Program effectiveness data for the Radiological Technology program includes information on Credentialing Examination Pass Rates and Job Placement Rates.

Students completing the Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Care are eligible to take the national certification exams which are administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Students who pass the Therapist Multiple Choice (TMC) exam above the low-cut score but bellow the high-cut score are awarded the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential. Students who pass the TMC exam above the high-cut score are awarded the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential. Students who earn the CRT credential are also eligible to take a second exam, the Clinical Simulation Exam (CSE); upon passing the CSE exam, students are awarded the Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT). As of February 2022, the pass rates for CU students on the TMC exam at the high-cut level were 100% (8 out of 8), 100% (8 out of 8), and 80% (4 out of 5) for 2019, 2020, and 2021 (respectively).

The Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Licensure is unable to provide licensure pass rates by institution for students who are seeking licensure as either a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Due to the small number of students who graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Medical Laboratory Science, licensure rates for this program are not publicly available in order to maintain student confidentiality. In AY 2020-2021, two students graduated with this concentration.

CU collects data on what graduates are doing approximately six months after graduation. In AY 2020-2021, information was gathered on whether students were employed or continuing their education for 80%, 66%, and 58% of the students graduating with an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree, respectively. For students who received an associate degree for which information is known, 26% were employed full-time and 71% were continuing their education. For students who received a bachelor’s degree for which information is known, 51% were employed full-time and 35% were continuing their education. For students who received a master’s degree for which information is known, 80% were employed full-time and 20% were continuing their education.
